Dias Notiva Wuri, along with her editor Marika Webb-Pullman, has been shortlisted for the TA First Translation Prize, awarded by the Society of Authors, for her first novel and first translation, Birth Canal
The TA First Translation Prize is an annual prize for a debut literary translation into English generously endowed by Daniel Hahn and Jo Heinrich. The winner is awarded £3,000 and a runner–up is awarded £1,000. The prize is shared between the translator and their editor. This year’s judges are Rahul Bery, Gesche Ipsen, and Clare Richards. Wuri has been shortlisted for translating her own work.
The prize winner will be announced on 12 February, 2025.
