Lynne Olson at Chalke Valley History Festival

Lynne Olson will appear at Chalke Valley History Festival on Friday 30 June at 6.30pm, first discussing her new book Last Hope Island.

In the early days of World War II, London became the base of operations for the exiled leaders of occupied Europe. In their struggles against the mightiest military force in history, Britain become known as 'Last Hope Island’. At this special event, acclaimed historian Lynne Olson will disscuss her book and describe how the British and their European guests joined forces to restore order to a broken continent.

The event will take place in the Baillie Gifford Tent at 6.30pm. Tickets cost £12 pre-booked or £15 on the day. Olson will also be appearing later that evening at the panel discussion entitled 'Splendid Isolation', in the Hiscox Tent at 8.45pm.
