The Animators wins Best Jacket/Cover Design at the British Book Design & Production Awards 2017

The 2017 British Book Design & Production Awardswere announced on Friday, and Scribe is very pleased to have received the Best Jacket/Cover Design for Kayla Rae Whitaker’s The Animators. The cover was designed by our very own multi award-winning Allison Colpoys, who is Associate Art Director here at Scribe in Melbourne, and who has designed a number of striking covers for Scribe over the last few years.

The award was fiercely competitive this year, attracting the highest number of entrants ever: 105 submissions. The judges praised The Animators cover for its ‘aggressively colourful cover’; ‘wonderful endpapers’ and ‘retro use of hand lettering’.

Scribe congratulates Allison on this remarkable achievement, and congratulations too to our Production Manager, Mick Pilkington, who also worked on the book. It’s fantastic to see the careful work of Scribe’s design and production team, under the expert guidance of Art Director Miriam Rosenbloom, being recognised on the world stage.
