Laura Elizabeth Woollett brings Hell Days to the UK
Starting on October 18th, Laura will be taking to festival stages and visiting bookshops across various cities. Stops include an appearance at OzLit Festival in Foyles, London, where she'll be joining writers Lucia Osborne-Crowley and Molly Flatt to explore what happens when the body knows something that medicine, law and society refuse to hear.
On October 20th, Laura will be in Bristol to join the team at the Very Small Bookshop, hosted by bookseller Leah - who herself suffers with PMDD - for an evening of discussion about their experiences with the condition.
Laura will then travel on to Manchester where on October 21st she'll be in conversation with Kimberley Cormack, Head of Community at The PMDD Project at the city's Blackwells bookshop, speaking about why PMDD has historically been so misunderstood and the importance of raising awareness.
Laura finishes the tour on October 22nd in Sheffield at Juno Books, where she'll be talking about the politics of women's health and what needs to change to better support sufferers.
Hell Days: Into the Inferno of Hormonal Mood Disorder is Laura's non-fiction debut and assembles a chorus of voices - including fellow sufferers, activists, clinicians and scientists, and Laura herself - to shed light on the impact of PMDD on the lives of those with the condition, the medical system, and society as a whole.
Blending Laura's self-reflection and personal experiences with case studies, interviews, extensive medical research, and forays into history, true crime, and algorithmic rabbit-holes, Hell Days is a testament to the reality and precarity of living with a misunderstood and potentially fatal condition which affects millions around the world.

Laura Elizabeth Woollett
Laura Elizabeth Woollett is an author and critic based in Naarm/Melbourne. Her short story collection, The Love of a Bad Man, was published in 2016, followed by the novels Beautiful Revolutionary (2018), The Newcomer (2021), and West Girls (2023). Her works have been listed for numerous awards, including the Stella Prize and the Prime Minister’s Literary Award for Fiction. In 2025, she was a writer-in-residence at the Cité Internationale Des Arts in Paris. Hell Days (2026) is her nonfiction debut.
